Windows 7 - Can't install Adobe Reader |

Can't install Adobe Reader I had Adobe Reader 9.3 installed, but it was uninstalled as part of my trying to install Adobe Reader 9.4, which won't install. I successfully downloaded the Adobe download manager in Firefox, but at the end of the Adobe Reader installation, I get two messages. Both want me to verify that I have access to the directory ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat\9.0\Replicate\Security\Directories\acrodata; and ProgramFiles (x86)\Adobe\9.0\Reader\plug_ins\annotations\Stamps\Words.pdf.
In the first case, I have nothing in the Security folder. In the second case, I have nothing in the Reader folder.
I press ignore for both, but then the only option is to cancel.
I tried this process again with both my firewall (Windows 7) and antivirus program (AVG) disabled. Still didn't work, same error messages.
I tried this in IE, but it won't let me download files unless I install the Google Toolbar and make IE the default browser. I don't think this is a browser issue, though.
How can I get Adobe Reader 9.4 successfully installed?
Thanks.

I'm using the Foxit Reader now, as an alternative. I tried the Revo Uninstaller Pro and the old Absolute Uninstaller I have, but Adobe Reader isn't listed.
Any suggestions on what happened with the Adobe install and how I can correct it?

What you can do is to reinstall the previous version and then uninstall it by Revo.Uninstaller.Pro..Advanced Mode
(Though Advanced mode is not that necessary but sometimes it helps.
It only takes 2 seconds more on my PC.) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number AMD _(Assembled)_ OS Dual Booting Windows 7 64-Bit Ultimate Edition and Fedora 16. Just downloaded and installed without any problems. Tried earlier, but the download wasn't completing, so I think that there might have been a problem at Adobe's end. Incidentally, I always download and save the file to my computer and then run it from there. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, N/A OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit & 64-bit both SP1 CPU AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 7550 @2.5GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA770-ES3 Memory 2 x 2GB PC2-6400 (DDR2-800), Ganged Mode, (4GB total) Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB Sound Card Realtek High Definition on board solution (ALC 892) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VA1912w Widescreen (VGA) Screen Resolution 1440x900 Keyboard Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard (USB) Mouse Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 (USB) PSU XFX Pro Series 850W Semi-Modular Case Antec NSK 4000B II Cooling 1 x 80mm Front Inlet (with filter) 1 x 120mm Rear Exhaust Hard Drives OCZ Petrol SSD 64GB SATA III

I always save files and download them from my computer, too. But to download and install the Adobe Reader, you must first download the Adobe Download Manager. Where can I find the Adobe Reader as a standalone exe file?
Revo Uninstaller Pro doesn't show that previous versions of the Adobe Reader are on my computer. And I don't see an advanced mode on the Revo interface. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio XPS 8100 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP 1 CPU Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.8 GHz Motherboard Dell 0T568R (CPU1) Memory 8.0 GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 664 MHz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTS 240 Sound Card M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2407WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives 977 GB Western Digital WDC WD1001FAES-75W7A0 (SCSI) Other Info Microsoft Security Essentials, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird. Usually takes them a day or two after an update for them to add it to their library.
