Framework 1.1 sp1 - manual registry entry?
I've long had a problem getting Framework 1.1 SP1 to install on Windows 7. I always get the error 'this setup cannot be run on XP64'
Which always irked me because I'm obviously not on XP64 but obviously the package predates Windows 7 and Vista so it thinks the user is on XP.
I've tried the 'slipstream' 1.1/1.1SP method(on MSDN blog and MyDigitalLife etc), and get the same error above - at which point I assume something is corrupted in my system, because the 'slipstream' method apparently works for every other Win 7 owner I've run into.
So what I am thinking is that I can move the content of the Framework 1.1.4 folders from my Vista drive to the 7 drive. Problem there, is that the system won't recognize any of the .dll or modules as being registered.
I am not very knowledgable with any assembly stuff for Windows, but I don't think I am in need of Regasm or Aspnet_regiis as I am not running anything related to a server?
This is simply a last resort attempt to get .net 1.1 SP onto my Windows 7
Any ideas, please let me know(heck, I'll even take someone elses exported registry information if they can somehow dig it out for 1.0.3/1.1.4)
