Problems installing .net framework 3.5

I am having major problems installing .net framework 3.5.1 I understand how to install it by going into control panel and selecting turn windows features on or off.

The problem is caused by running a 7lite install that I had removed .net framework because I did not think I would ever need it on this netbook. Well times have changed and now I need it to run a program called doubletwist.com.

So how do I manually fix this problem? I have tried downloading and installing .net framework however that does not work. After running netfx_setupverifier_new I can verify that I have 2.0 SP2 as well as 4.0 full and client installed however that does not fulfill the requirements for 3.5 which kinda sucks lol.

So if anyone knows how to fix/resolve this issue without re-installing windows that would be great!!!

BTW we are talking a 32bit system

Thanks

William
