    Windows Live Essentials 2011

I just downloaded and installed Windows Live Essentials 2011. When I tried to watch a movie I have in my media library through my WDLive TV device it would not let me login to network shares. After some investigating I uninstalled Windows Live Essentials 2011 completely and was again able to log into network shares on my WDtv Live.

Evidently there is a problem between WDTV Live and Windows Live Sign in Assistant in Windows Essentials Live 2011 and it blocks access through my WDTV. I could not find any way to just uninstall the sign in assitant so have totally uninstalled Windows Live Essentials for now. Anyone else having this issue and has anyone found a workaround instead of a total uninstall of Windows Live Essentials 2011?

    Hey there,

I'm having the exact same issue. I don't know how to uninstall just the Sign-in Assistant from Live Essentials 2011 either. Grrr... I shouldn't have upgraded that this morning. ;p

    Check this:

It's definitely an issue with the Sign-in Assistant, though I don't know whose fault it is. :\

With it affecting more than just the WDTV Live I think Microsoft might need to do some investigating with sign-in assistant.

Has anyone seen a solution anywhere for this issue. I just re-installed windows essentials live 2011 again but the problem with the WDTV live still persists. I have reported this to both Microsoft and the makers of the WDTV Live but so far no response.

    Hi Again Guys

I just noticed Windows Live Essentials 2011 is now an update which for now I have temporarily disabled as I do not know if the issue with the WDTV live has been addressed .. does anyone have it installed along with a WDTV or similar device and able to watch videos and log onto the device?
