Please Help, problem after Adobe reader 9.4 update

Can anyone help me please, I installed Adobe reader 9.4 from a Kerbs on security link the site appeared genuine and after a reboot a folder has appeared on the desktop named Adobe Reader Installer. I havnt clicked on it and did a system restore to get adobe reader 9.2 back after which 9.4 had gone replaced by 9.2 but adobe installer remained on the programs list, did another system restore and the installer had gone but the desktop icon remains but now wrapped in another folder I have quick scanned with ms security essentials and malwarebytes anti-malware. PC seems to be running fine but I dont know what to do with this desktop icon?
Any help will be much appreciated.

Right click and delete it. Always open Adobe and update from help drop down.

That only works for updates to the current versions and won't upgrade you to newer versions. For example, if you're running 9.2 and use the update function in the help menu, it will say you're up to date if you have all of the updates for 9.2, even though 9.3 or 9.4 is out.

Just delete that.. It won't cause any trouble.
Btw, Foxit Reader is a better alternative to adobe reader. adobe is just a collection of vulnerabilities..
As far as the Ask toolbar is concerned which come along with Foxit (with no option to deny its installation), it can be easily installed without the stinking toolbar... Let me know if you've any problem(s)..

Foxit is vulnerable to a lot of the same exploits that Adobe is.

:) Thanks for everyones help, I bit the bullet and deleted the folder and after a reboot, no problems to report. Was a little concerned that if I deleted it something would happen. I am going to download Adobe reader 9.4 direct from the official Adobe website!!
