    A problem with yahoo messenger

I have never heard of this problem and I cant find a mention of it when I try to google it. When I try to use yahoo messenger, all that I can type are numbers. They are in sequence... If I try to type They are in sequence it comes up like...0123 456 78 90123456. Now it does the same thing on log in. I have uninstalled it twice and reinstalled it and it only happens in chat. Are there any suggestions or do I need to go to another forum.

The problem could be within the keyboard itself. Have you tried plugging in a different keyboard to see if the issue still persists? Also, make sure your keyboard layout is set correctly for your type of keyboard.

Most older laptops could have a PS/2 port for keyboards, and a mouse. If it don't then you can always try and find a USB port keyboard, and plug it in. It should work.

This. Though it's strange that it only does it in Yahoo Chat. If you haven't already, try re-installing Yahoo Messenger.

I have uninstalled messenger twice. And it is a new Lenovo laptop. It makes no sense at all that it only occurs in a chat.

Okay, after some more searching, I'm getting a lot of Google hits of issues like this on Lenovo laptops. The root of the problem is some anti-keylogger software they have installed on your system.

    Try these steps:
    1. Run "msconfig.exe"
    2. Click the "startup" tab
    3. If "GID Desktop Application" is listed, UNCHECK it.
