Smart Defrag ?

Hi, this morning when I started my Computer I noticed a small coloured thing moving in my task bar (bottom right) so I clicked it and a window opened Smart Defrag ! and its defraging my first hard drive, going into the program I see it can be set to do this, anyway I'm thinking do I keep it or not ? if someone can please advise me

Unless it taxes system resources frequently, you can stick to to the auto defrag feature. As you use that computer more and more you'll be able to decide. Alternatively, you can turn off auto-defrag and schedule defrag or do a manual defrag once a fortnight or once a week depending on whether you download/install/uninstall a lot.

Personally, I have auto-defrag turned off (i'm a control freak ), and i have a routine consisting of AV plus temp files removal plus manual defrag once a week.

I'm with Bill2, I don't like programs running off with my machine. I'd rather do it manually.

I use MyDegrag, which I think is the best defragger out there (and free). It's got different strategies for monthly, weekly and daily defrags. Although daily is most likely overkill....
