Windows 7: Hotlinks open in Word 2007

Hotlinks open in Word 2007

since last week when I opened a link from a Chinese University (which can be trusted, but nevertheless prompted the "unknown certificate" warning in Opera, all my hotlinks open automatically in word 2007 (which is started for this) - where the webpages are obviously not shown correctly and are of little use.

in the first moments when word opens, there is a basic box with loading bar that seems to show how word imports something.

I run Windows 7 x32 Student Home version with all the recent updates on a Lenovo Thinkpad R500, again with all recent Lenovo updates.
My office 2007 has been updated, but not recently.
I use Opera as standard Browser, but also hotlinks from Skype, Firefox, or PDFs all open in Word

I'd appreciate a little help here!
