    Next time it shows up in the systray, do as I have suggested. It should tell you what the icon is.

    UPDATE: I've got the icon right now. Funny thing is when I try to open up my Windows Live Messenger, it waits a while and closes.

    The Windows Live Messenger is correct but I'm doubtful as to the icon. Your system tray notification area icons could be corrupted. Notification Area Icons - Reset
    Pay close attention to the warning to follow the steps. At first glance, one would think that clearing the reg entries and reboot would work, but it doesn't. Make sure you follow each step.

    what is the small magnifying icon mean on windows 7? - Askgetanswer

    you must have moved that from start menu
