Umm... I haven't had this problem before, and I don't really think my solution will work. Anyway, here it is:
Run CCleaner and delete what it finds.
Turn off any Antivirus programs.
Right click the install file and press Run as administrator
Install it.
You may have iTunes working. If it doesn't work, just try installing iTunes 10.0, or go back to iTunes 9. | | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavillion a1375a Media Centre PC (modified)

My personal solution....not to use it at all!  
In all fairness though, if you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you really do need it.

It is of course your choice.
I have helped out on BSOd and the solution was remove I tunes
NOobvious has give a link showing problems with Itunes.

Thanks to Nooobvious I used Z Zip File Manager to separate the folder and then install programmes individually slightly different to his reccomendations but the same principle
