Instant messaging ?

Hi , I would like to setup instant messaging on my new to me Computer but using search engines I see there are many more than I thought there was so my question is "what one is good with Windows 7 ?" any help - advice very much appreciated, thank you

I have Windows Live Essentials but I did not include messenger, do I need to uninstall or will Windows Live Essentials overwright ?

Yes I was the first time but I did not include messenger, so if I download again can I over wright ?

Think you could just run the live essentials installer again, and only choose the IM.
