Rule of thumb the newer the copy protection the less likely are you to succeed

Also see DVD Decrypter from the makers of ImgBurn (may need to use Win 7s compat mode).

    Other software DVD Shrink...

Sorry, Ciara...DVD Decrypter will help you remove certain protections from Movie DVDs. Same goes for DVD shrink.
The TS looks for a program to copy a Video Game DVD.
It would be so much easier to answer if we knew what game/what protection we're talking about.
I would rather put my money on MagicDisc, UltraISO, Alcohol120% or CloneDVD.
But if we're talking about a recent game those chances are slim to non

    ImgBurn

This is a recent game. ImgBurn copied it with no complaints. The disk comes up on autorun. It is presently installing. Steam servers are really slow. I'll post back. I am being vague on purpose. Don't want to violate any rules here.

if it's a steam game, then once it's installed and patched up, you can right-click and backup game files to a safe location on your hard drive, such as a data partition if you have one (which you should). (and even burn them to dvd...)

they will install much quicker in the future, and will be ready patched. :)

    Right Click?

Right click what? I would go for a backup. I have this loaded in Acronis "Try and Decide". So when I leave I'll dump it. The game borked a couple of third part Apps which I had to reload. It changed my home network to a public network and I was getting messages from my firewall. So I just took it off the machine.
