Video editing software recommendations I have a Panasonic MiniDV camcorder (tape) and am looking for a good program to import and edit video. The camera comes with MotionDV Studio which basically works to import the video, but it's not very useful beyond that. I've used the latest Windows Movie Maker, which works fine but it's pretty basic. I've also tried Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD - it has many good features but it doesn't import properly from the camera (sync problems). Can you suggest anything? It's for personal not professional use and I don't want to drop too much $$ on it. Thanks!

have a look here
i'm not 100% sure you can trust sites like this though - how much of it is marketing? anyway, they have a few reviews of several lo-cost products, hopefully there are free trials available so you can try-before-buy.

When I import video from the camcorder Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD automatically saves it as AVI. That's fine, but the problem is the video and audio are out of sync. This doesn't happen with the panasonic app so I know it's not a hardware problem. If I could solve this I would probably go with SVMS. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 x64 CPU Athlon ii x4 620 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P Memory 4 GB Graphics Card Geforce 9600 512meg Sound Card Xonar DS Hard Drives Hitachi Deskstar 1 tb |
