CineBench

Okay so today I downloaded CineBench R11.529
I unzipped it and plased it in a folder on my desktop.

When I try to run "CINEBENCH Windows 64 Bit.exe" it always comes up with an appcrash.

Try this, it works for me for 7zip every time. Download Safe MSI , it will let you enable the windows installer in safe mode. Boot to safe mode, click on Safe MSI, you will get a confirmation. Now try to install in safe mode. Good luck. A Guy

hmm, that wont work because there is no installer. The program is a benchmark utility thats ziped, so after I unzip and try to run it, it crashes.

My bad...that seems to be a DEP error. Try this:

Control panel> System and Security> System> On left pane Advanced System Settings> Advanced tab> Performance section click Settings> Data Execution Prevention tab> Click Turn on DEP for all programs and Services Except those I select> Use the add button to navigate to the CineBench exe and add it to your exceptions list> Apply and OK your way out.

See if that helps. A Guy

Yes, I just unzipped to folder on desktop, and clicked on the x64 exe. Didn't have to right click, run as administrator. Have you tried that? Or take ownership of the exe?

Just on a whim, have you tried downloading it again and unzipping? Or is there a mirror or other source you can try?
