    Web Content Control Programs

Ok so in my family we have some younger family members and some others who sometimes get into stuff they are not supposed to look at. And im trying to find some software to monitor and control their content.

I discovered Ardamax Keylogger, Child Control 2010 and User Control. Im still looking for some good software. Even with the keylogger i can't seem to figure the email to send me the results. So im just wondering if anyone knows of any good programs.

You know how schools have their systems rigged. They have it set so that if you went to google, typed in "porn" and hit enter it popped up saying "This site page has been disabled by your administrators" So how can i do this?

    Thanks

    Hi Collin,

Why not give your built-in program a go?

Don't forget to look at the related tutorials at the bottom. They will help to add more control.

    Hello Collin,

Theres a lot of info on this topic, just search the forums. But let me summarize what I have seen:

    1) On a multi user computer, the best way to compartmentalize is setup multiple users and assign permissions accordingly. E.g. in your case, you could be the sole administrator and the younger members could have standard accounts. That way, you can restrict access to drives, folders and files and control what users can do via group policy and security policy.

    2) You can combine parental controls with the family safety filter (freeware) from MS to control access to websites. Its a bit limited but does an adequate job.

    3) Third party tools also have parental controls. E.g. Norton has a parental control software called Norton Online family, also I think its other products Norton 360 and NIS have parental control features. Somebody the other day mentioned a tool called K9 web protection.

If you are talking about password protecting hard drive content, you can use Truecrypt.
