itunes 10 not recognizing iphone or ipod

I have the newest version of itunes, and just upgraded to a 32 bit windows 7 os. After upgrading itunes no longer recognizes my iphone(s) or ipod(s) as anything more than a camera. I figured out that the AMDS hadn't installed, and after a tedious gamete of trial and error, I finally transferred a working AMDS program from a working vista computer. Alas, now I have AMDS, but itunes STILL does not recognize either. I am now open to suggestions! I really really want to be able to USE my expensive toys!

I've used CopyTrans Transfer iPod to iTunes, copy iPod to PC and iPod to computer and MediaMonkey with my iPod and iPod Touch.
Or you could go back to the last iTunes and see if that works.
