does reinstallation of a software make double entries in registry

    just a stupid question.

for some reason, if i have to reinstall a software. say uninstall it from Add/Remove first, then a reboot, then install it again, does this make double entries in registry?

You can search for old entires manually before reinstalling. If your not comfortable with that try Revo Uninstaller, it's able to search for entries after uninstalling a program.

No, if you uninstall, it should all be removed.
You may want to use revno, for complete uninstall. Its the best, better than control panel
Sometimes, control panel will leave remnants (in registry too) revno is much better.
    Bottom right of page
    for 32 bit free
for 64 bit free for 30 days
Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

CCleaner will clean up any thing left in registry. But back up registry first and know what you are deleting.

It is not a stupid question if you uninstall a program & then re install the same program it will not create double entries.

If there are any remnants when you re install the program it will just over write them and not create new entries :)
