The "best" is a subjetive term. I use GFI Home Edition (www.gfi.com) for standard backup, and it has never let me down. Maybe another one to add to your list?

Daily was not an option, which I would have selected. I do an incremental backup, then a full backup.

I usually make two complete images weekly with Acronis TI and one with Paragon Drive Backup Pro. I also run Genie Timeline to constantly backup user files. A Guy

Had "Daily" been an option I would have chosen that, too.
    ---

I can't compare backup alternatives; I only use one.
Acronis TI Home (v2011) is what I'm currently running.
I've been using Acronis products for several years and although I find the interface kind of funky, the backups are rock-solid.
I do an Incremental daily and a Full Backup weekly.
I transfer these to DVD's Monthly.
    It works for me! :)

Also, I have a "Pristine" image sitting on the side in case I should ever have to re-install Windows- heaven forbid! (About 30 minutes)
It takes me days to do a fresh installation, programs and all, otherwise.

    Hope this helps!

I use Clonezilla as it boots from CD or DVD and it doesn't care what operating system your using. Takes a little to get use to it, but it's the best program I used to date. GL :)

    Back up what?

    Data?

    System?

I backup data every day, using Second Copy---a file by file method, not an imaging application.

I backup my system with an imaging application--alternating between Macrium Free and Acronis--every month or two.

I have never had to restore a system image. I've been able to use Windows System Restore to roll back to a known good point numerous times--maybe 6 or 8 times per year.

I keep my most recent two images just in case System Restore fails me---it hasn't happened yet.

I think Karen's application in the poll is a file by file method, not an imager. File by file methods are much more reliable, but can't restore a system.

I use Paragon back up and restore - free edition and the free acronis edition that is available if you own a segate or western digital drive. I make a full image about every 3 months or after major changes but back up my data (A Guy's wallpaper) to external drive immediately

Yes, Karen's Replicator is a file backup program. I have programmed it to back up the main drive I use to 4 storage drives and the software does a very accurate job.

I do daily for the system with Macrium. Weekly for the data because that does not change so often - also with Macrium.
