installer and permissions on windows 7

Hi,

I have deployed an app using python + py2exe. The app is working fine on XP but on
windows 7, app is not able to write and modify it's own files. It's because
"permissions" on win 7. After installing I have to manually change the permissions on executable in order to work with out any problems.
How I set "write" and "modify" permissions while producing an executable? I am on
XP and Python 2.6.5.

To create an installer I am using "InnoSetup". Posting this query there suggests
that this has nothing to do with "install builder".

Cheers

Prashant

You don't change the permissions, you run the application as admin. Or better yet. Do not change the files in "Program Files" but rather use the User's AppData (Application Data in Windows XP) folder in there profile. That is what that folder is for, application data.

Run as Administrator
