Messenger - "You Can Still Chat But..." Message

Hi,

For several months now I have had a pink strip in my LIVE Messenger that states:

"You can still chat but some features might not be available because of a connection problem"

How do I get rid of this and what is it referring to?

I can send and receive messages OK and my Internet is working OK so I cannot understand what the message is referring to. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit O/S with Windows LIVE messenger version 2009 (build 14.0.8117.416)

Any help most appreciated.

Is the upgrade to 2011 the only way to get rid of the message?

I would say so. I had that message for a while when I had the previous version, so I did the upgrade (much to my reluctance at the time) and it seemed to have fixed the message problem.
