Windows 7: BitPim and Bluetooth Driver Madness

On 7, when I Add a Bluetooth Device for my Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000 connector in order to use my cellphone to download txts, pics, and videos, there is a significant and annoying wait to be able to use my mouse. The mouse is unusable for a good minute or so rather than immediately without the "added bluetooth device."

Any ideas why that happens or how to remedy it?



The mouse works off a USB (wireless) connection and my phone connects via Bluetooth.

I'm not sure if I've got this straight. Are you using a mouse and phone on the same computer at once, or are you using the mouse to connect your phone to the computer?

The MS mouse connects through wireless via USB. The USB connector (separate from the mouse) doubles as a bluetooth receiver, through which you can connect bluetooth devices (such as cell phones) to transmit data between your device (in this case my phone) and your computer.

When I add a bluetooth device (the USB thing) it makes the mouse unusable at startup for a few mins (whereas without the bluetooth device enabled in the control panel the mouse is usable right away after login).

Dang! That thing's got it all!

Anyway, what I would do is install the drivers, if you haven't done so already. If it doesn't work, than I would just assume that the USB Bluetooth thing can only connect to one thing at a time.

As an example, my BlackBerry can find multiple things, but it can't connect to more than one of those things.
