    Downgrading from MSN 15 -> 14

    Hi,

I am considiring of downgrading my current version of windows live messenger (WLM 2011) to the previous version from 2009 (14.0)
The reason why is because I don't like the new MSN at all..
It makes my startup progress at least 10 seconds longer..
I'm not able to put nicknames.. etc..

So i would like to downgrade back to 14.0
    I found this website
I tried it a few months ago..
But then I got some strange results..
In my jumplist.. I had these strange icons.. They filled up the "empty space" that shoud've been there.. They also were shown in the "empty spaces" of other applications. Like skype.

This is what the jumplist looked like after downgrading

I solved that by creating a new username
    backup all my data.
Then deleting the old user, and recreate one ('cus i wanted to keep the name)
and delete the user i used to delete and recreate my user.
and then the icons were normal again..

    How did this happen.
And will downgrading make this happen again?

    Thanks

This all would have been easy to resolve if you had a backup to restore from but failing that if it happened once it may very well happen again. I dont know what you did to "downgrade" to 2009 so I cant tell you why or if.

I would live with 2011 if I were you because instability is always an issue if you "modify" with two different versions.

Sorry I cant be more help.
