Windows messenger 2011 problem.

Hello all.

I am having a problem with Messenger @ my work computer.
I have win 7 pro x64 installed. AMD Quad core and 8gig ram.
I noticed the problem happened after the update to Essentials 2011.
Today I have un-installed the entire pack, ran ccleaner, and then proceeded to re-install the WLE2011.
The result is the same. Here is my problem:

Messenger will start properly and everything seems fine.
As I hit the "Sign In" button, it takes a long time to pop up the contact list (with "Not Responding" popping up about every two to three seconds).
Once the contact list is loaded and my mouse is over the contacts, it freezes again and seems to unfreeze. Then repeats the process. It never completely crashes but hangs. What is really interesting is that the error reporting does not detect this.
For the mean time, I have it uninstalled and went back to a previous version.
Maybe thats the way it should be :P.

All right, ignore my previous post. Well part of it....
I went back as far as MSN Messenger Live 8.5.1235. (released three years ago)
Same outcome on older versions of messenger.
This is strange.....

It IS strange, but the original download may have corrupted your system --- even though you've attempted to undo it. You might want to do a System Restore to the most recent restore date prior to the Essentials update. Then, if you're willing to chance it, try the update again.

I have deleted the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger" as mentioned in this post here:
MSN messenger hangs after signing in - Technology & Internet

Currently installing again!

Seems like you're in a loop of installing -- uninstalling -- installing --- uninstalling. If it was my system, I think I'd do the System Restore because all of these installs and uninstalls could be leaving unwanted remnants on your system -- and the System Restore would -- at least --put you back to a condition that you were in before all of this happened.
