WLM 2011 update... Hey folks,
I signed on to my computer this evening and went to log in to WLM to find that I was being forced to update to a new version....not pleased that I am being forced to update, but I will do so.
Problem is, when I try my update, I am currently getting an error which is preventing it from completing and I am at a loss...
Error is that found in this image:
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks a lot for any help! | My System Specs |

Do you even have Messenger on your system? If not, just ignore the message.
PS: are those the Citroen chevrons in your avatar? BTW: the wife's grandfather lived in your town. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

I do have Messenger, yes, I've had it for since I first set up this system back in Sept. '09.
I'd love to ignore the message, but I can't as ignoring it means it won't let me finish installing WLM!
As for the avatar, yes, they are Citroën chevrons, haha...we don't have them in Canada (well, not since the '80s anyway) but I've always enjoyed their charm. Also, random coincidence about the grandfather! I see you're from Germany....quite a few German folks retire and move here because the settlement was originally made up of Germans brought over by the Brits in the 1750's . | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz Motherboard Asus P5K SE/EPU Memory 6gb DDR2 RAM - 2gb OCZ, 4gb GSkill - both in dual channel Graphics Card Palit Radeon HD3850 1gb Sound Card On-board Realtek AC'97 Audio Monitor(s) Displays BenQ P775 17" CRT Screen Resolution 1024x768 (monitor really doesn't like anything higher...) A brief update....
Found out that this is sometimes a common error solved by changing the permissions of this key in the registry...I HAVE found the key in the registry, but I cannot change the permissions as the system claims I do not have the rights (even though I am logged in as an Admin account)...thoughts? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz Motherboard Asus P5K SE/EPU Memory 6gb DDR2 RAM - 2gb OCZ, 4gb GSkill - both in dual channel Graphics Card Palit Radeon HD3850 1gb Sound Card On-board Realtek AC'97 Audio Monitor(s) Displays BenQ P775 17" CRT Screen Resolution 1024x768 (monitor really doesn't like anything higher...) The easiest is probably to uninstall the Messenger (you can chose this during the Windows Live uninstall) and reinstall it. Then try the update again.
It was the wife's grandfather. She is American from NY. And here is my last Citroen I owned: | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

I've thought about that...I'll see how that goes.
Ah, an old CX Not many of those around here at all, but there are a few car clubs across the country with members that have them; more the sedans than the estate versions. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz Motherboard Asus P5K SE/EPU Memory 6gb DDR2 RAM - 2gb OCZ, 4gb GSkill - both in dual channel Graphics Card Palit Radeon HD3850 1gb Sound Card On-board Realtek AC'97 Audio Monitor(s) Displays BenQ P775 17" CRT Screen Resolution 1024x768 (monitor really doesn't like anything higher...) Well, I ended up finally getting WLM 2011 installed, and I must say, I REALLY don't like it compared to 2009...why on Earth would Microsoft remove features like nicknames and single-streaming of webcams that people use all the time?
I for one am not pleased and I don't figure a lot of other people are either....but...I am glad to have one of my primary ways of keeping in contact with friends back; at least we can still type to each other.

Why don't you install WMM 6.0 too. I have both. Windows Movie Maker 6.0 - Install on Windows 7
There are though some nifty features in WLMM - just keep looking and experimenting. And the output quality is far superior than that of WMM. I had to buy a lossless editor to edit my video tutorials because the text pages were quasi unreadable when edited with WMM. That is a lot better with WLMM.
Regarding the CX - there are probably very few of my model in Canada - it was a "Prestige" model. The chassis was 25 cm longer than a normal CX with a lot of room between the front and the rear seats. I bought that because I had 2 German Shepherds at the time and they could comfortably rest between the front and the rear seats. I did not want them on the leather seats. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

I'll have to give WLMM a go as well
Haha, as excellent a reason as any to have a longer car I've heard of the Prestige model, yup. Don't think they ever did sell it here, but I know that was the model that Chirac used when he was President of France back then. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz Motherboard Asus P5K SE/EPU Memory 6gb DDR2 RAM - 2gb OCZ, 4gb GSkill - both in dual channel Graphics Card Palit Radeon HD3850 1gb Sound Card On-board Realtek AC'97 Audio Monitor(s) Displays BenQ P775 17" CRT Screen Resolution 1024x768 (monitor really doesn't like anything higher...)
