VMWare Player 2.5.2 running on Windows 7 RC 7100

I installed VMWare player on Windows 7, but my guest OS could not see the domain, while it could actually ping the Domain Controller.

I might try Workstation and see if that is any better at network issues.

I can tell you workstation does not have any issues, was using it myself earlier.

The player however I have had small issues with. For me it was mostly running the Virtual Machines, had a hard time just booting one up. =|

Trying workstaion and have the same issue. Can see the network. e.g. ping, and nslookup but when it comes to browsing the internet from withing the host no luck.

I can do a lookup on microsoft.com an also internal addresses.

When you say it sees the network, do you mean its 'connected' (or so it says)?

The fact that I can ping my domain controller ... confirms I have a network and can use the DNS to do external lookup.

I have both Windows firewalls turned off

Sorry, I am asking a dumbed down question because I hardly understand the workings' of ping/dns/IPv4/IPv6 etc.

Oh I didn't think the NAT setting would affect it that much, but glad you solved the problem
