I want to learn to program

Hello people,

I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong section but I really need some help. I want to learn how to web program but I have no idea where to start from. I have read some info about HTML and CSS but no idea how to develop myself. There are thousands of tags at HTML and sometimes I think I just need to get a pen and notebook and write them in until I remember them all. Other time I read into the manual of some WYSIWYG application and then I got totaly confused. Please tell me where to start from, just a direction because I really want to learn but no idea how to do it.
Also, if anyone else would like to learn like me, he/she is welcome to add me on skype so we can learn together - age_of_empires3
Thank you!

Best Regards
Stefany

You could watch this guy's videos: YouTube - XHTML Tutorial - 1 - Adding a title and body text to a webpage

I watched him to learn java for the university and he helped, not sure about html, but he goes step by step.

He also has some css tutorials as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Xklu...eature=channel

When i first started web design i started out at w3Schools. Great place to start out at. They explain everything to you, and have forums if you need some help.

Here you can find free web design software:

The 10 Best Free Web Editors For Windows - Best Free Windows HTML Editors

I have never used them but before spending a great deal of money on software such as Microsoft Expression or Dreamweaver, it may be worth trying some of these. I would most to come with tutorials on how to use them.

This type of software is much faster and easier to learn than learning to write code yourself.

Good Luck

Sorry to say this, but there is no real way to learn how to web design fast. It's all based on what you want to do. For me, I have been slower than a bunch of other people trying to comprehend all the different functions of php, and html. I am going on 2 years now and i am still trying to get a hold of things.

Basically it is all time based. You put in more time into trying, and doing and you will get there. Good luck :P
