Windows 7: Live Messenger - flashing conversation window

Live Messenger - flashing conversation window

Hello there,

I have a dual monitor setup for my computer. I usually drag windows like Outlook and Messenger chat windows off to my second monitor.

I never liked the Windows 7 taskbar so I have altered it as much as possible to look like the Vista taskbar. This means each active Messenger conversation window has it's own button on the task bar, just like it did in XP/Vista.

When a message is received in a chat window that is not in focus, the chat window flashes and the taskbar button pulses orange.

I find it to be the most irritating behaviour, sitting there pulsing away trying to get my attention.

Is there any trick to stop the window from blinking and just have the taskbar button turn a steady orange to indicate a new message?

Thanks!
