Net Framework
If you have Net Framework 4 Client Profile installed do you have to install any of the other frameworks, 2 or 3.5?

Unfortunately, .NET Framework numbers are not Versions; therefore a higher number does not necessarily provide backward compatibility.
I certainly wish Microsoft would create a .NET Framework, and I mean only one, that would satisfy the needs of all .NET dependent software.
I'm sure the developers do, too.
An aside: My wish list includes the Visual Basic thing, too.
I always suggest that if you are not running a program that needs the .NET version in question, then I would avoid the bloated installation.
Anyway should be installed at least versions till .Net Framework 3.5 & being windows Updated.
After it's up to you for .Net Framework 4.0 Client Profile.
The only thing i know is that .Net Framework 4.0, set to disable the .Netframework 2.0 and this one is largely needed by such ATI Control Center and other many usefull features as Intel Rapid Storage Technology..etc...
Guess, after each update of .Net Framework 4.0, go in services.msc and set back to "Manual" the .Net Framework 2.0, and let on "Automatic" for v4.0.
This will let an access to the Apps to install properly for those needed in V2.0 & v3.5....or just don't update to v4.0
It has never been offered in windows update. I remember when in XP they always offered it and it was up to you. Guess I'll just wait until something needs it.
