    Compatibility Assistant

I have gone through many threads before deciding to post, didn't find what I'm looking for.

I installed a macro into Corel X5 and it seemed to work (however the developer of this macro required one to jump through so many hoops to get this simple macro to work, one would think I was installing some Top Secret Level crap from the Government) and I haven't received the last Code to complete this activation but before I get the Windows Compatibility Assistant saying this program didn't install correctly.

Is it possible/likely that this window came up because I tried to open the Macro and closed it because I haven't received the last code to activate it?

How does anyone really KNOW which to select, Reinstall or This Program Installed correctly (is it as simple as if the program didn't load or can it load and run and still have compatibility problems that this program could fix) ?

I also saw that there are many Threads to removing or disabling this Assistant, is that wise, is one better off without it?

A while back another Macro I was installing in Corel X5 and after I got that Assistant window, think I selected (not sure) "This program installed correctly" but then after it said it was going to change from Windows Aero to Basic screen display or something like that. I tried to find where it made that change to see if it was still that way after a reboot but have no idea. Since then I have had to completely reinstall Corel and I'll need to reinstall all my Macros, if it does this again is there a way to stop it from changing from Aero to Basic?

Right now I have the Assistant window open for this first macro I installed since I completely reinstalled X5, hoping to know which to select.

You will get this dialog when the installer doesn't actually tell Windows if it installed correctly or not. In most cases you can just say "This program installed correctly"
