    Win 7 HDD Cloning

I have been doing my research concerning cloning my Win 7 C: HDD. In another thread I was troubleshooting an BSOD boot up loop. So, while I have been able to fix all my issues. I now have a new fresh hard drive and a fresh install of Win 7 on that drive. Is it possible to use PCMover to move over my data and installed programs? I am concerned that the OS on the now removed hard drive is corrupt.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I suggest you give the Windows Easy Transfer tool a try: Windows Easy Transfer - Transfer To & From Computers

That would probably be the safest.

It may also be worth noting if you had created a backup of the previous install via Windows built in tools, you can mount the backup file as a physical disk and browse for your desired files. In the start menu type "Computer Management" click on the computer management icon in the list, select Disk Management then go to the more actions drop down menu. Select Attach VHD and Browse for your saved backup.
