as stated on the Nero website

The Nero products do not currently officially support the Beta versions of Windows 7. Please be assured that Nero is working closely with Microsoft to ensure that Nero products will be compatible with Windows 7 when it is officially released. However, at the moment Nero cannot provide support for queries pertaining to the current Windows 7 Beta versions. We will make an official announcement with further information after Windows 7 has been officially released.
Please note that Nero 8 (or any previous Nero version) will not officially support Windows 7.
Nero does not plan to add Windows 7 support for previous Nero versions.

The only suggestion I have is to try CDburnerXP which I found burns CDs and DVDs just fine

hmmm nevermind... I tried burning some CDs and DVDs with CDburnerXP and all I got from them were coasters... they read fine in Windows itself but not in several of my CD or DVD players... I will do some digging to find a better program

I've used Nero Vision 9.4 to burn CDs, DVDs and Blu-Ray, and Burning ROM for CDs and DVDs with no problems. I'm using an LG GGW-H20L drive.
