Concert DVD > Audio CD

I have a concert DVD that I'd love to somehow convert to audio files, or even an audio CD. Assuming I can get the .vob files on my computer unencrypted, is there some application out there that will convert each chapter to a different song/audio file? I'd love to convert this to an audio CD that I could listen to in my car, or .mp3 files I could listen to at work. I wouldn't even need to maintain the surround sound of the DVD...stereo would probably be fine.

one of my favourite little video editing tools can do this.

for some reason this site won't display the link properly, but google avidemux, and you'll find it.

run the prog >> file >> open >> find the vob >> it may say it's found several vobs, do you want to append >> yes >> the program will now import the movie

then use the audio menu to save the main track: audio >> save (you have to add the mp3 extension yourself.)

there may well be more elegant solutions - but this one's free and it works.

If you have the "System Mixer" so you can record what is playing on the computer speakers, you could use a program such as the free "Audacity", play the DVD and record the audio with Audacity.

Try Goldwave Digital Audio Editor. Download from here GoldWave v5 Download . (requires a little bit of learning but once you master it, you will love it for what all it can do.)

You can load the .vob files and then extract audio to wav or MP3.

EDIT: If you want it simple, you may download Freemake Video Converter http://www.freemake.com/downloads/ and straightaway convert your DVD into MP3 either from the disk or DVD folder (ripped to HDD).
