conversion of printed geez (Amharic, Tigrinya) to digital format.
I am writing now to ask regarding the conversion of scanned text
into digital files. It is common knowledge that one can scan a printed English
text and save the scanned text as a Word file. But one can also save the scanned document in PDF format.
I am currently constructing a site that will include a large number of Tigrinya E-books.
Most of these are old books from the beginning of 1900. And are not available in
any book stores anymore. My original plan was to scan these books and save them as
PDF files. However, this type of PDF would cause disk space problems and it would take
a long time for an Internet user to read it on the screen. The only solution I
can think of is to convert the printed text, into Ethiopic, Amharic, Geez fonts
Any suggestions on how to solve the problem?
