need suggestions
I'm looking for an excellent quality video editing software, that has all the bells and whistles but user friendly. Any and all input welcomed.

I happen to use Sony Vegas Movie HD studio. It was around $85 from Amazon and has been relatively easy to use as I have very little experience with this stuff.
Free or paid for? And if paid for, your absolute upper price limit?
Meanwhile, take a look at these:
Video Editing Software - Movie Maker and Video Editor Download Free
Adobe Premiere Elements 9
Pinnacle Studio : DVD & Digital Video Editing Software, HD Support
Thanks ppark1 I'll check it out.
Dwarf, paid preferably and around $200, maybe a little higher if need be. I'll have a look at your suggestions as well.
