    VOLCONTROL(volume control by Boredom Software)

i swapped keyboard today and there is no volume control so i done a search for a program and found this one by Boredom Software easy to install works ok

**PLEASE NOTE Windows 7 works with compatability mode.

VolControl has two modes of operation: The default mode is to register three hotkey combinations with Windows which correspond to the volume up, volume down and Volume Mute commands. The second mode will usurp the volume control keys on many media keyboards to the same effect. This allows the user to more granularly control the volume settings. **Windows 7 users must set the Compatibility Setting for VolControl to Windows XP

mmm found this on the Boredom Software home page made me chuckle though!!

Boredom Software was founded in 1574 by Pope Gregory XIII and Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II in Greg's dad's garage. Boredom Software has the oldest continuously operating website in the world which first went live on May 10, 1752.

Notable members of Boredom Software's famous development shop include Benjamin Franklin, Alan Turing, Bob Hope, Barbara Jordan, and Quentin Crisp.

Most, if not all, of the software projects found here are paradigm-changing works of binary art. Some of our more popular software products have been banned by the Catholic Church and other religious institutions due to their perfection being perceived as being the work of the devil. Our next major project, currently in private beta at the Large Hadron Collider accurately calculates both the position and momentum of particles to an arbitrarily high precision. Public release date to be announced at a later date.

The bulk of our software projects are written in RealBasic, a cross-platform, object-oriented dialect of the venerable BASIC language. It is similar, generally, to Microsoft's VisualBasic save for the whole native Linux and MacOS binaries thing. Home - Boredom Software

Results from testing tell that it doesn’t work on Windows 7, yet you can run it in Windows XP compatibility mode. By running in compatibility mode, it works fine for sometime, but after a while it hangs the application or volume automatically starts increasing or decreasing depending upon your last increase or decrease command, i.e. if last time you have increased volume using hot keys, it continuously will increase the volume to full. Try it out, see if it works for you. Do share your results with us!
Is this still an issue with the software? I can't have my music blasting at work while I'm on a call.
