    1 mouse/keyboard, 2 computers. [Like Synergy]

    ---------------------------------------------------------
    TLDR;
I'm asking if anyone knows a fullproof way to fix my problem with Synergy (which has not been updated since 2006, I think) or knows of a program that works about the same as Synergy but is more compatible.
    ---------------------------------------------------------
Don't get me wrong, Synergy works okay. For the most part.
Basically, I have a desktop and a laptop. They are right next to each other, and I have a wireless mouse and keyboard.

The way Synergy works, when I move my mouse to the right side of my desktop...the mouse transfers to my laptop, along with the keyboard.
This program worked fine with XP to XP.
It had some kinks to work out in XP to Vista.
And has a couple more in W7 to W7.

Synergy will run fine, until my desktop (which runs incredibly slow..by the way) will get this 10 second lag spike. Afterwords, for whatever reason, my mouse will be on my desktop while my keyboard is fixed on my laptop.

To fix the issue, I tried clicking the "Force Reconnect" button. It fixes the problem of having the keyboard and mouse on different screens, but it won't let me move them back to my laptop.

So, the better solution is to completely restart Synergy on my desktop.

It's just, this happens to frequently that it has become an issue.
I've tried running it in compatibility mode and as administrator on both computers. No dice.

I use 2 computors 1 keyboard and mouse both wireless using a KVM switch with only key board and mouse hooked to it. See my system specs. 64 bit is running build 7 RTM other machine is xp needed for printer and scanner drivers. Microtek flatbed is fire wire no 64 bit drivers but has a networking program I scan from Windows 7 using scanner on xp, printers Epson 1100 and 880 are also networked from 7 thru xp, I tried virtual machines but no fire wire ports.

    TranceUp,

I installed Windows 7 last night on my computer that acts as the Synergy server and I'm seeing the same problem you described. Did you ever find a resolution for this?

FWIW, I'm running Synergy between my main system and a Dell notebook with no problems after half a day of work.

I am using Win7 RC 7100 on my desktop.
I have my Dell mini 10 netbook using Windows XP SP3 sitting to the left of my monitors.
    I have homegroup enabled.
I am using Synergy 1.3.1, with a wired keyboard and mouse.
I move my mouse all the way tot he left and it goes to the netbook.
I have had it running for 24+ hours and have not seen the issue above.

Could it be something with your wireless keyboard and mouse?

I'm not even sure what that means, so I'm guessing no.

synergy works fine here between notebook(server) and htpc (both win 7)

Default port is 24800 that has to be opened in the firewall.

using BT dinovo edge and mouse on the notebook.

Bought a second dinovo edge for the htpc before i knew about this software. that one is hardly used.
