Hello. I installed Windows 7's SP1 yesterday (with it's prior KB976902 as well) and everything seemed OK.
Now, when I'd tried to launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46, it showed me an error and it wouldn't start. Uninstalled it, cleaned with MB' Clean Tool, and reinstalled 1.50.1 (or the last version available)-- This time it showed an "Run-time [...] error 48" indicating that there was a problem with a file named "advpack".
I reinstalled once again with no results.
A few minutes ago, I started WMP for some music, and the "First-time Configuration" screen appeared; I've been using it for 1+ year, but I filled it anyway. When I finished, another error appeared, again pointing to a "advpack.dll" file, yet the program started correctly.
I searched the whole Windows folder for this "advpack.dll", and found 4 of them:
Code:
- C:\Windows\System32
- C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-advpack_31bf3856ad364e35_8.0.7600.16385_none_227a9e5883838d14
- C:\Windows\SysWOW64
- C:\C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-advpack_31bf3856ad364e35_8.0.7600.16385_none_c65c02d4cb261bde
As you may see, I'm using a x64 version (Ultimate), being the first 2 the x64 files and the others, x86 ones.
When I checked their "Details" (or Metadata, I think) only the x64 ones showed something:
Code:
File Description: ADVPACK
File Version: 8.0.7600.16385
Product Name: Windows(r) Internet Explorer
Product Version: 8.00.7600.16385
Copyright: (r)Microsoft Corporation [...]
Size: 156 KB
Date of Modification: 07/13/2009
Language: Spanish
Original File Name: ADVPACK.DLL
The x86 ones just showed a 123 KB size and 07/13/2009 as last modification.
I hope this is enough information, and that this is understandable.
Thanks a lot
