    Sandbox Programs?

    Since sandboxie is not being supported for windows 7 yet, has anyone found any sandbox programs that work on 7? I liked how light sandboxie was so I'd prefer a stand alone sandbox program.

    Blast Microsoft for removing the awesome Guest Mode they initially had in 7000!

    edit: sandboxie works on 7 but not on 64 bit yet. >=(

    Not the same thing - VBox is virtualization for entire Operating Systems - Sandboxing is for isolation of specific *applications* in a single Operating System.

    not sure this is the same this looks like sfotware firewall solution not a sandbox. Reason everyone loved sandboxie is it would let you run any exe in the virtual window and if it had a virius it would not effect your OS or registry.

    Keygens etc...

    Dont think there is one for x64 at all anyway Sandboxie didnt work under x64 either.

    I used to run Returnil on XP and whilst it was a little inconvenient - it was excellent. Don't have time to test it on 7 till about 7 hours hence. If no one has done it by then (!!! step up, step up) I'll give it a spin.

    I posted that I had previously used Returnil in XP - it creates a virtual space which when running is used to store all data created during the session. Come a way since I last used it. And I run 32bit so I don't know abt 64 bit windows.

    On my system;

    1. Set-up and run seemed just fine - downloaded and installed Opera. did a few other things. None of these should have shown any trace of when turning Returnil off and re-booting
    2. Re-booted, start up seemed slow (my imagination?), booted into windows, again it was slow, selected my user - NOTHING HAPPENED. Did not complete (or even start the load). Ditto selecting different user (Administrator).
    3. Booted into Safe Mode. Had to do a restore/or an uninstall to get back into any user.
    4. Returnil, however had done its job - no sign of Opera etc.

    So your experience may vary but I doubt it. Returnil a NO NO.

    I suspect that all that fails is for the virtual space to properly dismount. But not prepared to risk it again.
