    Photoshop to Dreamweaver help please

    Hi everyone - i am new to the forum.

    I am designing my site in Photoshop and then want to put it in Dreamweaver.

    How do i make sure that the imported files are then centered when they are uploaded? I did a 'live view with Firefox' and the web page was to the left of the screen, with a massive space to the right where it was blank.

    I am designing the site from the start, so i can use any settings which are advised, from the start.

    What do i need to do to get the right settings in Photoshop which will allow for the page to be centered within Dreamweaver? Additionally, what settings/code do i need to use in Dreamweaver to make the web page centered when it is viewed online?

    Is 800 x 600 an optimal size to use?

    Many thanks.

    You can align objects and text in Dreamweaver using the "align" commands, among other things;

    Align text

    You align text on the page using the Property inspector or the Text > Align submenu. You can center any element on a page using the Text > Align > Center command.

    Align text on a page

    1. Select the text you want to align or simply insert the pointer at the beginning of the text.
    2. Click an alignment option (Left, Right, or Center) in the Property inspector, or select Text > Align and select an alignment command.

    Center page elements

    1. Select the element (image, plug‑in, table, or other page element) you want to center.
    2. Select Text > Align > Center.
    3. Note: You can align and center complete blocks of text; you cannot align or center part of a heading or part of a paragraph.

    The size of the images you use depends on what you are trying to achieve, and how fast you want your site to be. Large images take longer to load.

    EDIT: Just a tip here, if you are learning this from scratch, then install a server on your local machine, and try everything out there. This will save you time and frustration. This server will run more or less anything that runs on the web;
