    Open dialog box

When I click on some icons on the desktop I get this dialog appear:

    Open dialog box-opendialog.jpg

This is annoying, so is there any way of getting it to run the program without this? So far Google Chrome and Team Fortress 2 do this.

    Hi Nick,

Not sure if this is the one you get with exe's downloaded with firefox - if so right click on the exe and click on the Unblock button at the bottom right.

I always do this now when downloading things and it works well if you unblock the installer or Zip file straight after download

From the mention of the internet at the bottom of the box I think this is some form of hold over from downloading a file from an insecure source - the internet
Not sure how long the block from downloading remains - I know that all contents of a "blocked" zip are blocked until un-blocked, so you may want to check the .exe that is called by the shortcut

I don't run games so wouldn't know about that but I can run chrome without a dialogue
