    HI i am using sp1 on Win 7 for a little while now and everthings been ok apart from two programs Sopcast (problem has been solved) and Winamp.At the moment winamp is allowing me to use it as an audio player as video is playing with sound but no picture.
    Audio files are working fine its video thats the problemThe videos im trying to play work fine on other players but im at the stage where i want to know why my old fav is not working.If its cause i need a paid licence and winamp pro then ill be saying no thanks and then use other players.

    I only tried Win-amp again for a short while after installing SP1, and then I uninstalled it. Too many problems.

    Lots of other suggestions from other users here on the site.

    Aimp is often mentioned;

    http://www.aimp2.us/

    I mainly use this for videos etc;

    VideoLAN - VLC: Official site - Free multimedia solutions for all OS!

    and I mainly use this for audio;

    Spider Player - The Ultimate Music Player

    I use other stuff as well, depends on what I want to do.

    Winamp does not include many video codes by default. They did not design it for all media, primarily for audio. But for audio I would recommend it

    For video it's easier to just use Media Player Classic or VLC.

    I installed a codec pack(klite ) but that not only didnt work but screwed up other media players video.

    I just installed Spider Player for audio and will use GOM or VLC for video in future.It was just handy before with winamp having a 2inone

    Some codec packs are very buggy, and some are vehicles for malware.

    Run a scan to be certain;

    Malwarebytes

    have you tried shark007's codecs?

    a lot of people on this site find them very good - and mr sharky himself is a regular forum poster.

    although i've been a longtime winamp user and fan, i don't find it great for playing videos, so i've never tried sharks codecs - i only use winamp for music myself.

    it's worth a try.

    Have tried sharkys codecs but still videos have sound but no picture.sharkys codecs fixed the other media players problems with lack of picture though.so the onlyproblem left is winamp.
