Compatibilty Mode

Hello there, i recently got a new pc and installed most of my programs form the old pc to the new one, but the most important program of all does not work on windows 7, i tried running it on all the compatibility modes and also ran "troubleshoot compatiblity" and it does not work. This program is not sold anymore or neither does it have updates. What can i do to make it work, and i mean !I MUST MAKE IT WORK!
Are there any programs that can help me with my problem?
Please help, any advice is greatly appreciated, im willing to try anything.

The program is Arteferro Cad 3D, which is a program used to design gates, fences, balconies, handrails and anything related to metal work, There is another program from the creators of this one but you have to pay for the days you use it and it is online. I use to run it on Windows xp, i am not sure if it was home edition or service pack 3, the thing is that is not with me right now so i cannot find out for sure untill tomorrow.
I do not know what you mean by virtual machine, sorry i am not so with computers

if i install this program will i be able to switch between operating systems or just be stuck with xp which would be the one i need for this program?

If i install the virtual machine program do the operating systems already come intalled or do i have to download them separately?
