    Uninstalling The Uninstallable

I had the database files for my email client on a hard drive that failed. Therefore when the client attempts to start, it only pops a couple of error dialogs about the missing files and doesn't open, so I can't reset it.

Therefore, I need to reinstall it, but it is not listed in Programs and Features, there is no uninstaller in the Start Menu or program folder. I tried using Revo's drag and drop method, but it popped the dialog in the screenshot below. I guess that I could the delete the program folder and search the registry for keys, but I'm hoping that there is a better way?

Have you tried simply running the setup.exe again? Some programs will give you option to repair install, or just install over the old.

I'll give that a try, because I ran a registry search, hoping that I could find a key that would control where the database location is, but despite finding an endess list of keys, none appeared to be anything that would help. There is a newer version of the client, which stated that it was "fully" Windows 7 compatible, but when I asked the client's support what that meant, when the old version seemed to install and work on the OS, I never got a response. I'm guessing that this is the result.

I would now consider buying the update, but I would still need to get this taken care of first, because it might interfere with the newer version.

EDIT: No, that didn't work either. The moment that the installer window appeared, and error dialog also appeared, complaining about the missing drive, and wouldn't proceed.

Message sent to support. Hopefully, they will have the solution.
