The update that failed is for Office 2007
Download details: Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB2466156)

Download TFC by Old Timer TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer - Geeks to Go Forums and save it to your desktop.
Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. If you are using Vista/Windows 7 right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator.
Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

    Elong,
I had a similar problem with a Vista. 2nd week of April I downloaded a bunch of MS updates and then my PC would not boot. I too had to do a system restore to get it to boot back up, but as soon as I installed the MS updates it would fail again. When failing, the boot up process makes it all the way to the point where you see the mouse pointer,... then before you see the welcome screen it would reboot. By process of elimination, I was able to narrow the problem updates down to kb2506223 and kb2506212. (which are 2 of the ones you listed) I hope this info helps you, but unfortuneatly for me, I am stuck. After I installed kb2506223 and kb2506212, all of my system restore points disapeared. (so now I can't go back and simply unselect those updates) I tried to use Linux to undelete the files but no joy. I also looked up the KB on MS website and tried to manually un-do the files it updated but no joy there either.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Bob
