    Firefox 4 Lost Bookmarks Problem

    Hey,

Okay so I have a problem with Firefox 4 and I can't figure out how to get my bookmarks back. What happened was i booted my laptop and when i opened my browser it gave me the welcome to Firefox 4 page and all my bookmarks were gone. Yet all my other settings are the same, such as my download location, etc. I would like to recover my bookmarks as i use them all the time and it makes life a lot easier when you can make short cuts. If any body knows how to recover my bookmarks that would be great.

    Thanks

They should be in your firefox profile on your hard drive---assuming they weren't deleted entirely.

That profile is usually in c users yourusername appdata roaming mozilla firefox.

Look for files with a json extension.

I'd try a System Restore to a time prior to when this started. I'm not sure it will help.

Do you have a file called "bookmarks.html" in your profile??

Have you uninstalled Firefox and then reinstalled it? This will NOT delete your existing profile.
