    VLC Player and Win7 x64

    Greetings,

I need an FLV player. I've downloaded the VLC Player but have noticed that the file says win32.

I think it'll run on Win7 x64 but am not sure and would like to be certain before attempting installation.

    Thanks for your help.

Yes it will. I'm running it with no problems.

Thanks. I just installed it without any problems and its running just fine. BTW, when there's an update to the player must I first uninstall the old version or install the new over the old. I don't remember.

Have no idea. I just started using it myself.
As to updates I wouldn't worry about it. If the player is playing like you want I see no reason to update it. just my opinion.

+1. I'm running v1.1.6, have it set up/customised how I like and feel no need to change. However, if you do feel the need to upgrade you can just run the new installer.

As I remember it checks for updates, then gives you the option of downloading it. But that's for later. I have the newest player, at the moment. Thanks again.

Well that is IF you ALLOW it to check for updates.
I don't with any software. Just the way I do things. Don't care for Auto Updates one bit.
Just looked and I find no reference to Auto Updates. So if it does it I will be uninstalling it.
