ISO file

I have an iso file that is too large to fit on one standard DVD (extracted is 6.9 gb).

If I use IMGBurn to burn the file, will it break the file into parts and burn to two DVDs so that it is usable?

Thanks for any info.

Hello huffman,

I don't know if IMGBurn can do that, but I use DVDFab to do that and it works a treat

Hope this helps,

Tom

(i wonder where you acquired this iso too, but that's not my business...)

dvdfab will only be of use if it's a movie dvd.

you can buy hi-capacity 8.4 gb dvd discs...

I just assumed it was movie image because you can't split a data image into two usable parts without recompiling them at some point.

I know it may not be our business but we might aswell ask as we don't want to be condoning piracy, so huffman, where did you aquire this .ISO image from?

It is not a movie, it is a program I want install or at least part of it. I downloaded it from the internet and as far as I know it is a legal file.

I am not sure my burner will handle double density disks. It is an old ide burner.

Do you want to install this program on your computer?

If so, save yourself a DVD and just mount the .ISO image instead using WinMount

Do you need to boot from this program? If not just extract the contents of the iso to the hard drive and run setup from there.

Just mount it using something like Alcohol 52% or Daemon Tools or anything that can mount ISOs.

Problem solved. After extracting the iso with winrar, I can run the setup. I also bought some double density DVDs which work fine to burn the iso.

Thanks for the help.
