    7z file recovery

    Hello

I know maybe is not the right forum.

But I need your help I recently lost my drive and had to reformat it.

Then I used a software to recover some important files.

Now when I try to open 7z archive that I really need it says it corrupted.

Can someone help ? or maybe some software I can use to repair it.

    Thank you in advance,

    Welcome to the forums.

What software did you use to recover the files?

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download

    might help you.

    Hi

I used EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional 5.0.1 that my friend gave me.

The file is already recovered but the archive is damaged so maybe it can be repaired.

I was looking Google how to repair 7z archive formats couldn't find nothing.

I have tried to repair damaged 7z archives in the past, but without success. Sorry, but I have no useful suggestions on that.

You could try recovering it again with Recuva, and see if that helps.

All recovering tools seems not to recover any 7z files on my lost drive.

Someone got more knowledge about recovering 7z files from formatted drive or repair 7z files.

    Thanks,

Did you try to open it in Winrar? Winrar has built in file recovery tools. How successful they are, I can't say. You might also try Zip Repair, or IZArc

i'm also using EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional 5.0.1 and it seems like those .7z files cannot be fully recovered.

Interesting - I used easeus once or twice - don't remember having an issue with 7-zip files.

However, you might try running a different recovery utility - see if it picks up the 7-zip files better.

Recuva was mentioned earlier - you should give that a try - Recuva - Builds
