    Application password util?

Anyone know of a utility that would require the user to enter a password(s) to open different applications installed on the computer?

I know that this is a purpose of boot profiles but for a variety of reasons within this particular environment, the password util would be a lot better.

UAC Is one way but that would give the Program Full Permissions to your computer (XP Like)

Why did you want this? Parental Control?

for Documents if you have Office 2007/10 You can Encrypt documents so you have to enter a password to Access the document

    Hi markg2. :)
Salfeld Child Control has an option to block any program you want to. Take a look below
    . Hope that helps.

The environment is a social club along the lines of the Rotary Club but not (for purposes of confidentiality) where 95% of the folks that work for the group are volunteers.

A couple of different people use the same computer for different purposes with different skills. For example, person A should not be opening Excel or... However, since it's a volunteer thing establishing various user profiles with their blatant differences would probably cause some sort of 'difficulty' among the troops ;-).

If, however, all applications (and there's only a half dozen of which two already require passwords to enter: Quickbooks and the Point of Sale system) required a password, the problem would be solved.

The parental control software would work just fine IF there was a way to allow by way of password and not simply block the application(s)?

As you can see below, once blocked, you must enter the password to unlock the program. The ideal is to download it and install it. It's functional for a period of 31 days. More than enough time to test it and see if it meets your demands.
