Bad Image Error Message--help please!

every time i try to open an application like excel or word, i get a bad image message saying that

c:\windows\winSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.5592_none_d09196c24426e2d4\MSVCR 80.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.

what do i do?

Hello Perkins, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If this is with all applications, then it may be a issue with the file extension's associations. You might see if downloading and merging the exe and lnk (LNK) options in the tutorial below may be able to help afterwards. They will restore the default associations for these file extensions.
